Community Engagement Forums (CEF) Review 2017 |
Introduction
It was agreed in 2016 that Community Engagement Forums would replace the previous Safer, Stronger Community Groups (SSCG’s). The Council resources 14 groups who now meet 3 times per year, rather than the previous 20 groups who met 4 times per year. The CEFs are now being reviewed and any changes identified through this process will be implemented where possible. |
CEFs are non-decision making bodies. They provide a place where local needs, issues and projects can be discussed by local residents, community groups, town and parish councils and public sector organisations, including South Gloucestershire Council, in order to help shape future activity. |
They aim:
· To develop shared understanding of local priorities and need; · To improve the quality of life of people in the local area by influencing local decision making and service delivery; · To identify local solutions to community issues, and · To provide a forum for local groups to engage.
