Contribute to wider social, economic and environmental benefits by encouraging sustainable multi-benefit solutions and maximising use of resources

Q7 In Sections 5-10 of the draft strategy we set out the measures and actions proposed to meet the objectives and so manage the risk of flooding in South Gloucestershire. How strongly do you agree or disagree with these measures and actions?
Q8

Risk from flooding can be managed in different ways. For instance, by avoiding living in areas at risk of flooding or adapting how people live in these areas by improving flood warning and forecasting and helping communities prepare for flooding if and when it does happen. Building flood defence can reduce the damage to properties prone to flooding and learning from flood events can help improve how situations are dealt with in the future. The draft strategy proposes new measures to manage flood risk alongside those already agreed and ongoing.

Q9 Across all the proposed, agreed and ongoing measures, do you think the draft strategy has the right balance between prevention, preparation, protection, recovery and review?
